I hired Ryan with Philly hardwood to refinish our hardwood floors before we moved into our house. He turned on the air conditioning while working and broke our air conditioner. He must have not being using a dustless system. The filter to the central air conditioner was filled with inches of dust. Ryan then called me on his second day of doing work to complain it was hot in the house. I went to the residence to find the ac broken. I had to spend thousands to replace the ac and parts. The ac contractor advised Ryan should know to replace the filter daily if he going to run it with all the dust. I should of went after Ryan's insurance to pay for the AC repair.
The hardwood floors didn't come out that nice because they never filled the gaps between the boards. The also marked up all of the baseboard paint throughout the house.
I had someone come to the house to get an estimate for finishing my floor. Ryan came over and gave me an estimate and was hired . Unfortunately , he never came or called on the day that was scheduled. I called him three times and was told that the machine had broken and he will call me next week three days before he is to start the job. He would call and expect to do the job the next day. No consideration on my work schedule or time to prepare for it. This is not how you do business . Very unprofessional.
This was a disaster from start to finish. While Ryan came out quickly to give an estimate, he rescheduled me 3 times to start the job. The third time he rescheduled, we had to cancel other contractors to accommodate him. He assured me (by text and phone call) that the job would be done "in one day". It took three full days, which I only know because I came home to unsanded floors - no one contacted me to tell me. Because I was going out of town, I had to leave a key with his employees so they could finish the job. I came back to find my personal items broken in the basement, cigarette butts on my basement floor, my boxes opened and rummaged through, urine in my toilet, and bags of trash in my back yard.
I also came home to find that his company destroyed a hand carved Victorian handrail on my staircase. My banister was part of the reason I bought my house - it included a beautiful wooden rosette and curved detailing along the rail. Without consulting me or asking if I wanted it sanded, his company obliterated it. See the photo I attached.
Ryan assured me he would contact me about the damage. I haven't heard from him.
We hired Philly Hardwood Floors to refinish and repair the floors in our row house before moving in. Ryan was great to work with, easy to get in touch with, and flexible in accommodating our schedule. The quote was very fair, both in terms of time and cost. The team did a great job and we're very happy with our floors!
I contacted this company through Yelp. I received a quick phone call response and an appointment for them to come out for an estimate. Ryan's estimate was fair (this was to refinish some hardwoods in a bar/restaurant), and we couldn't be happier with the job they've done. The floors look gorgeous of course. But just as important to me was dealing with someone who showed up when they were supposed to and who followed through with everything properly. Sanding hardwoods can create a lot of dust, but these guys did a great job at cleaning up after themselves. We didn't have to lose any days of business either, as they recommended a quick dry poly coating since they knew we were sensitive to timing and couldn't close for a prolonged period of time. I will certainly use this company again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get hardwood floors refinished!
We had hardwood placed throughout our entire house,...tile, carpet, GONE! From initial encounter(browsing) to completed project, Ryan was very professional. The minor issues that came up after completion were immediately resolved. Our floors are "gorgeous" and so very easy to maintain !! You can tell They've been in the lumber/floor business for a long time and won't steer you wrong. - Michel
This company is top notch! They are reasonably priced without compromising on quality. Ryan did a great job walking me through the process of refinishing my Hardwood floors in a recent property that I bought. He walked me through it all from estimate to a final look over of the floors. And when I noticed that the stairs were rough and needed some more work he did not haggle with me. He simply said "I'll get it done for you." Again, this company is amazing! They saved me a ton of money AND gave me a few extras such as quarter round molding; which I never thought about. I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them for any hardwood floor job in Philly or beyond!! Thanks Ryan!
